Wow this is what I have been looking for. Nice. One question I have however is about API keys. Is this safe to use full keys? I thought Eve Mon and other programs used randomly generated partial keys for security purposes. Maybe I am wrong about this. Feedback would be great, thanks in advance.

The limited and full access API keys are generated by myeve(this website) for each character. Limited key only allows for character sheet and wallet balance, while the full key can be used to grab everything (character sheet, balance, journal entries, market transactions). For security, its what you feel comfortable with. MEEP never sends your data out to anyone, it just keeps collecting and collecting for you to use (source is available for proof). To stop MEEP from getting your data after you gave it your key, open the preferences window and where it shows your API keys, just delete them and click ok. You can even change the key entirely via the API part of this website, making the old ones obsolete and anything that uses them unable to get data anymore.
Heres the thing, how secure is your server or system that you run this software on, and or your firewall? The other part about changing the full API key I understand, but I would have to change it every day to keep someone from using if your system got hacked and looted for peoples API keys. I am asking because I am assuming that I would have to update the new API key everyday I use MEEP for it to work, right? I'd love to try this program out, but a four year EVE veteran player (and friend) just told me I was nuts when I told him about it. He has had his API stolen via a third party utility like this, and had his account looted before. Just wondering if there is a way to reset the API when in use to lessen the dangers or if this is totally crazy to use this software.

I see. It seems I didn't read the API Server page too well. As long as your software doesn't need access to my login and password for my account I should be OK. Thanks for the tips and advice.

Edited by: Rada Ionesco on 30/09/2007 12:10:43 I can't seem to get any of these plug in download links to work on the MEEP site, they either load blank pages or I get an error message on Eve-Files (404 error).

Woops, thanks for reminding me. I fixed the links to point to the latest versions.
OK, just so I am straight on this-the only plug ins that can be downloaded are invention, multicomponent and reprocessing calculators? Those are the only ones that actually let me download. I am assuming some if not all of the ones I can't access are in the multicomponent. Thanks in advance for the reply, I haven't had much time to be on lately and haven't tried out the program either. Real busy. Thanks.

Anyone else not seeing the 2.3.2 link open from Eve Files? I see 2.3.1. Can't seem to update to the new version, seeing as my version crashed, I am stuck. Any help would be great, thanks.

I noticed this problem when I was using 3.2.1, but it is now present in 2.3.2. I think that maybe something is preventing this program from working correctly. I doubt that the software is doing this from version to version, since no one else has mentioned this I don't think. My plug ins are not present if I use a shortcut or load the software from a tool bar link. It seems only able to load from the MEEP icon in the unzipped folder. Tonight it started doing that, so now I am stuck again with no Plug in access. The thing is it will come and go. Sometimes they are there and sometimes not. Anything I might be doing wrong. I am highly computer illiterate when it comes to programs and programming in general, so the fix may be over my head, but I'll give it a try.
